These tips will hopefully teach you how to make your computer faster by maintaining your computer so it doesn't become slow.  I hope that by reading these tutorials you will be able to learn everything about computers and how to fix them.  To watch some of my videos that I have on Youtube that will contain more tips than what I'm going to have here, please go to

Now let's get down to business.
 1) Defragment Your Hard Drive-  This is very important to do every once in a while, because if you don't, you will notice that your computer will start slowing down and it will take longer to open your files.  This is because of disk fragmentation.  This happens when you normally use your computer.  It makes your files go from being in perfect order in your hard drive, to having parts of your files go towards the end of your hard drive.

So now when you open up something, it has to get all the parts required to open that file.  It has to get it from the beginning, then end, and in between those to get all the files.  This takes way longer to open than just having all the files in one spot.  This is where defragmenting your hard drive is important.  It does this for you, it takes a while, but it will fix this problem and make your computer faster than with the fragmentation.  To watch a video on how to do this, please watch the video I created on defragmenting your hard drive.

2) Fully Delete files-  This will help you to have more hard drive space.  The first thing you need to do is delete files and programs that you will never use anymore.  The trick with this is that they don't get fully deleted when you delete them.  They actually stay in your recycle bin for a good amount of time and then they get deleted.  To delete them out of your recycle bin, you need to right click on it and select "Empty Recycle Bin"  To watch a video on how to do this, please watch my video:

3) Change Performance Options-  This is for people with slow computers like mine, or people with low memory.  If you are using Windows 7, they try to make it look nice by adding all these effects to make it look better.  The problem with this is that this takes up more RAM and takes a little longer than having these features turned off.  If you want your computer to go a little bit faster, please watch my video to learn how:

4)  Delete startup programs-  When you install programs, some of the programs automatically allow themselves to start up when you turn on your computer.  The problem with this is that too many programs at startup will make your computer take way longer to startup.  It also makes you waste more RAM, and sometimes processor usage and bandwidth.  This can make your computer always seem slow when you use it.

To delete startups is fairly easy, although you need to follow instructions carefully.  Also make sure you know which programs you don't need at startup.  For example, the only startup I need in order for my computer to work normally is called Microsoft Windows Operating System.

I also have AVG running at startup, but I "technically" don't need it, but please don't delete that from your startup entries because then you either have to turn on your antivirus manually every time you turn on your computer or else you will become prone to viruses.  To learn how to delete startup entries, please view my video:

I will be posting more tips soon, thanks for reading.
